JOE CEE - Ready for the cultural year 2007
After a kick-off gig in summer 2005, the Joe Cee-studio-project reached a surprisingly good spot in the international hit parade of RTL “Hitmaschinn”, this with the song “Carry on”. Strong with this joyful experience, Tom Bellion and Georges Zepp decided to rise a 'real' band who were definitely to support the vocalist Joecee Goedert as well in live situations as in the studio.
In January 2006 the song „Chessmen“, appeared on a CD-sampler issued by the Ministry of Culture in order to promote bands at the MIDEM, probably the most important european fair for professional music. At the present time Joe Cee is lucky to figure also on the 2007 version of this compilation with “No substitute for you”.
After Mark Reichling had left Joe Cee late 2004, starting his own band “Funky P”, the Joe Cee Project turned into a real live band with the joining of Claude GEIMER (drums), Lex WECKER (bass) and Christiane HOFFMANN (keys & vocals).
Every single one of them being an experienced musician, having performed for many years in several national top bands such as the pop formation Chapter Two, the groovy Tax Free, the progressive Silicon Carne, the Cargolux Airlines Houseband or even the splendid big band Opus 78 and the famous coverband Awacs, not to forget the southernrockers Coldframe and the legendary Footsteps.
The style profile of Joe Cee is best described in the “Rockbuch 1994 – 04” as to be a fat guitar-oriented pop sound.
As off may 2007 the band will be able to perform a one-hour-show containing songs of various colours from funk over blues and rock to pop. The audience may discover a broad spectrum of contemporary music. If most songs are signed by Georges Zepp, Joe Cee will also be proud to cover some fine songs of international bands and artists such as Toto or Sting, seasoned with some very own flavours.
